Hi Country Wire and Telephone, a Denver phone company, completes the phase 1 deployment of a telecommunications over-haul for the Saint Vrain Valley School District.

January 15, 2005

ARVADA – Hi Country Wire and Telephone, an metro Denver based phone company and veteran owned phone company, has completed phase 1 of its project work to deploy Nortel phone systems and Qwest network services for the Saint Vrain Valley School District. The project work commenced in July of 2003 when Hi Country was awarded the RFP bid to re-vamp the school district’s ailing communications systems. The phone systems, a Nortel Meridian Option 81c PBX and 42 Nortel Norstar Modular Communications Systems (MICS), were systematically installed and activated over an eighteen month time frame.

In addition to deployment of the Nortel phone systems, Hi Country performed a thorough network audit of the School District’s Qwest services. The audit led to a re-structuring of the School District’s services without disruption and yielded an estimated $5,900 in monthly savings in addition to $13,000 in credits for errantly charged services. Hi Country Wire and Telephone is the oldest active Qwest/US-West authorized agent.

Each school and administration location received a new Norstar MICS system and each system is tied to the Nortel Option 81c PBX by Qwest private line T1 services. The PBX system, which operates as a central traffic director for inbound and outbound calls, was installed at the School District’s headquarters. All systems were configured so that 4 digit extension-to-extension dialing can be performed between all the School District’s schools and locations. The project was coordinated by Terry Gallo, one of Hi Country’s key account executives.

Hi Country Wire and Telephone is a supplier of business phone systems, phone service, voice mail, and internet access. Hi Country, owned by Robert Whitfield Sr., is currently servicing numerous Federal, State, and Local Government agencies along with government contractors and businesses of all sizes.
