HCWT Completes a Nortel VoIP phone system installation for Centura’s new Summit County Hospital

ARVADA – Hi Country Wire and Telephone completed installation of a new Nortel CSE1000S Hospital VoIP PBX for the new Centura Summit County Medical center in Frisco, Colorado.

Hi Country was awared the bid to install the system in the fall of 2005. The new VoIP PBX system is monitored by the Outpost Sentinel PBX monitoring device on a 24x7x365 basis.

The system is comprised of 200 VoIP 2000 series telephone sets. Each phone shares a single CAT6 data wire that is run at each desktop location for both voice and data connectivity. Additionally, the new Frisco site is networked to Centura’s Nortel CSE1000M Multi Group located at St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver Colorado. Phone extensions on the new hospital phone system are connected to the Nortel CSE1000M Multi Group via 32 SIP trunks on a Qwest provided DS3 fiber circuit.

The central St. Anthony site provides the voice mail service for the new Summit Medical facility over the 32 SIP trunks to a Nortel CallPilot voice mail platform. This VoIP application at Centura Summit was the first VoIP application for Centura Hospitals and they are now moving forward with plans at other locations to consolidate additional remote locations via Nortel VoIP platforms.
