HCWT completes small office phone system installations for DDS and BMTS.

ARVADA – Hi Country Wire and Telephone has completed its Nortel Business Communication Manager (BCM) 50 office phone system installations for Digital Data Services and BioMedical Technology Solutions.

The BCM50 is Nortel's newest small office solution that supports both traditional and voice of internet protocol (VoIP) configurations. It's a great system for the traditional and progressive office environment, states Jim Whitfield, the project manager for both installations. "Nortel has done a very good job of offering a solution than can serve most any small office, it's very easy to configure after we obtain the customer's requirements, and the expansion modules can be re-used if the customer needs to grow into the larger BCM 400 system."

Dave Carter of Digital Data Services searched the internet for a small office phone system, found High Country Wire and Telephone’s website (www.hcwt.com), and requested a proposal. Hi Country responded the same day with a proposal and scheduled a demonstration of the system with Dave could see the system in operation. “Their requirements were a perfect fit for the system without any additions. Four incoming analog phone lines, six telephones (T7316e) plus a cordless (T7406) and conference room Polycom phone, and six voice mail boxes. The Nortel T7406 cordless phone operates with all the same functionality as one of the desk phones, including internal paging and intercom functionality,” says Whitfield. The great thing about High Country was that they were able to handle my Qwest service changes as well as install the Nortel system,” states Dave Carter.

Diane Gorder of BioMedical Technology Solutions was referred to Hi Country by one of their existing customers. Her start-up company needed a solution that could accomodate the rapid growth projected for their business. “Diane’s company has a great product and rapid plans for growth and they wanted their office communications environment to function like that of a large enterprise from the start. So we added a voice T1 module to the BCM50 base system and configured an integrated (iConverge) T1 solution from ICG Communications that would provide BMTS internet access and eight T1 digital trunks with caller ID capability. "A very nice feature of the iConverge is that we can add or reduce the number of voice trunks with no added cost to our contract,"states Diane Gorder.BMTS also wanted one of their employees in the NorthEastern U.S. to have an extension and voice mail on the phone system. So we are equipping them with a headset and software that makes their PC function as a phone by configuring VoIP on the BCM50 system. Incoming calls will simply be transferred to their extension, routed over the internet to the far-end DSL circuit, an answered as if that person were sitting at the BMTS headquarters in Colorado. The BCM50 will also has the ability to connect the two locations once the NorthEast location grows in size,"states Whitfield.

Both systems were professionally installed by Hi Country's certified and authorized installation service technicians. "Small office installations are given as much attention to detail and consideration as our larger customers,"states Dan Whitfield, Director of Operations.
