Platte Anchor Bolt goes wifi with Cisco

Denver CO – Hi Country Wire and Telephone just completed its initial installation of a Cisco VoIP UC540 small business phone system for Platte Anchor Bolt Inc.

A new phone system isn’t a new item for the world unless you consider that all of the desktop phones at the office now connect wifi to the phone system. When the project is complete all the computers, phones, and surveillance cameras will all function through two clustered Cisco AP 541n access points.

“I figure this is the present and future”, states owner Josh Winograd. “I don’t want to have to worry about running a lot of cable and I’d rather invest money in HD phones, surveillance cameras, and the other features offered by Cisco. I like that fact that I now have a firewall, integrated fax server and conference bridge, and PoE switch. The other manufacturers can’t offer the same features as efficiently. The discounted pricing that Jim Whitfield at Hi Country and Amanda Whitely at Cisco got for us made the system affordable.”

The UC540 system at Platte Anchor Bolt connects to two Cisco Small Business 541n access points. The access points are clustered so any device can stay connected to the business network as it moves around the grounds from office to warehouse and manufacturing yard.
